The Inn At The Mills

Brief History

The William Marston House was built in the mid-1700's by Benjamin Marston who operated several mills in the area, some driven by water from the Mill Pond located next to the Inn. The house was later owned by his son William through the mid-1800's with the mills continuing to operate until the 1920's. The area became known as the Village of Marstons Mills.

The house was next owned by two doctors in succession, until after the depression when it was abandoned and fell into disrepair.

It was purchased in the 1950's by Gene Tamburi, owner of the Yankee Pedlar Inn in Holyoke, who renovated the house to be an inn and restaurant but he died in 1982 before it ever opened.

Bill Henry and Peter Erceg acquired the property in 1985 with the intention of running it as a B&B and soon it evolved into one of the favored wedding venues on Cape Cod.

Bill passed on in 2000, the business was closed, the property was sold and it is now a private residence.

The William Marston House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Just getting started...

I'm Kevin Galvin, current owner of the property in Marstons Mills where for many years the Inn At The Mills provided a charming setting for hundreds of weddings and other functions. The Inn ceased operation in 2000 but the William Marston house and the property remain virtually unchanged today.

I've received countless requests for information about the Inn as it is a very special place to many people and we still have folks stopping by to inquire about having their wedding reception here.

I've been assembling a history of the Inn as that era represented a unique chapter in the life of this 225+ year old house.

I'm starting now with this blog to collect a list of the people that may want to partake in that effort as well as those who are just interested in what that effort produces.
